Welsh international David Brooks has overcome his cancer. The 24-year-old, who is under contract with the English second division club AFC Bournemouth, announced on his social media channels.
"I am glad that I completed my cancer treatment. Last week I met my specialist after checking my last test results," wrote Brooks on his TWitter -account. "I am happy to be able to say that the treatment was successful and that I can now give all -clear that I am free of cancer."
The Welsh announced in October last year that he had been diagnosed with lymph gland cancer in the second stage.
The 24-year-old made a special thanks to the team of doctors who had treated him. "I would like to thank all the incredible medical staff for the great work and support throughout the process."

Now he wants to concentrate on his future again. "I am very much looking forward to becoming fully fit again and continuing my football career. It is an incredible feeling to express these words, and I am so grateful for all your news and good wishes that really helped me with the difficult time", so Brooks.
